A native of Verona, Italy, Bondanelli received both his B.A. and M.A. in Architecture from the University of Southern California, in 1989 and 1994, respectively. Bruno also completed a Thesis at the Univerity of Architecture in Venice, Italy.

Bondanelli is an Adjunct Instructor in the UCLA Extension Professional Level Program in Interior Design (Arc-Id), as well as at the Master Program of Interior Architecture at Cal Poly pomona, where he has played a prominent role in their evolution into prestigious programs recognized well beyond the Southern California region. During his 16 year tenure at the Arc-Id program Bruno has received the Outstanding Instructor of the Year Award twice (1998 and 2007).

Immediately after college Bondanelli worked for several local architects, and with the Community Redevelopment Agency in Los Angeles, he played a role on the Hollywood Boulevard redevelopment plan. Since founding Design: x in 1990, Bondanelli has completed more than 200 projects, ranging from furniture design, interior design, residential and commercial architecture. With the incorporation of the Bondanelli Design in 2008, Bruno is taking an even closer look at sustainable design, urban living, and today’s most crucial problems that bridge the gap between developers and the Planning Agencies.

Bruno has been a visiting lecturer at various architectural and cultural institutions in Europe and the US.
